Suburban Library Cooperative and SLC member libraries are proud to promote area businesses through an exciting NO-FEE promotional program called the GoLibraryCard Discount Program. The goal of the program is to promote area businesses that agree to provide a discount of their choosing to SLC member library patrons who show their library card.

Metro Detroit Book & Author Society

The Metro-Detroit Book & Author Society strives to present top national authors in a comfortable, casual setting, with an opportunity to buy signed books and meet the authors. Guest authors have included Steven King, James Patterson, Mary Higgins Clark, Scott Turow, Barbara Taylor Bradford, Michael Connelly and Debbie Macomber. Celebrity authors have included Cokie Roberts, Jane Seymour, Gladys Knight, Lee Iococca, Tim Russert and Dan Rather.

Michigan Library Association

The Michigan Library Association (MLA) is Michigan’s oldest and largest library association. MLA has served the library profession in Michigan for more than 128 years. Our membership includes more than 325 libraries and 1400 individuals throughout Michigan from public, academic, school and special libraries, and organizations supportive of libraries. We are a collaborative network of libraries, library professionals and library supporters who are dedicated to advocating for libraries, growing professionally as leaders in the library community and advancing the profession through sharing of best practices, innovative ideas and new programs and services that benefit library personnel, library patrons and the communities we serve.

Michigan Library Cooperative Directors Association

The eleven cooperative directors meet every other month and discuss the statewide issues, their regional concerns and collaborate with our partners, including the Library of Michigan, Michigan Library Association, and Midwest Collaborative for Library Services. Our goal is to provide the residents of Michigan with the best in library
services that our member libraries can deliver.

Metroparks

The Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority (HCMA) cooperates with schools, local communities, regional park and planning agencies, in order to assess and provide for the recreation and education needs of the five county area. The HCMA Interpretive staff is regularly in contact with school and organized community groups in order to provide interpretive programs that fits the needs of the organization.

Library of Michigan

The Michigan Legislature created the Library of Michigan to guarantee the people of this State and their government one perpetual institution to collect, preserve and provide access to the story of the State, and to support libraries in their role as essential community anchors.
